Because great brand images don’t happen by accident. They’re intentional, strategic, and created with a clear purpose: helping you show up confidently and attract your ideal clients.

That strategy starts with our Discovery Call.

Step 1: Connecting and Learning about Your Business

Once you reach out, we schedule a discovery call—either in my Brighton, Michigan studio or over Zoom. While it’s absolutely a “get to know you” meeting, it’s also the start of your brand photo shoot strategy.

During our conversation, I want to understand:

  • What your business is all about
  • Whether you’re just starting, refreshing, or scaling your business
  • Where you plan to use your images (website, social media, LinkedIn articles, speaking engagements, email marketing, and more)
  • How you want your brand to feel

This isn’t just chit-chat—it’s the foundation of your visual strategy. I’m listening for the stories we need to tell, the gaps that purposeful imagery can fill, and the opportunities strong visuals can unlock for you.

Step 2: Envisioning Your Brand Shoot

During the discovery call, we also begin talking through the big-picture logistics of your future shoot:

  • The style and tone that best reflect your brand
  • Whether we may want to source “clients,” models, or props
  • The types of environments and activities that support the story of your business

The goal for your branding shoot isn’t to create a random gallery of “pretty pictures.” It’s to build a set of intentional, scroll-stopping images that support your marketing, elevate your client experience, and help you show up with confidence.

Our discovery call gets us aligned from the start so we can create exactly that!

Step 3: Are We a Fit? & Mapping out Next Steps

By the end of this meeting, we’ll both know if I’m the right brand photographer for you and your business. If we decide to move forward, we’ll outline:

  • The package that best fits your goals
  • The approximate timing for your brand shoot
  • The next steps in your planning process

After that, you’ll receive my Brand Shoot Planning Guide, which is packed with tips, timelines, helpful resources AND inspiration. I’ll also ask you to complete my questionnaire. This is the foundation that helps me design your session from the ground up.

This is where the magic—and the strategy—start taking shape.

What Comes After the Discovery Call?

I’ll dive deeper into this in an upcoming blog post, but here’s the short version:

From here, you’ll get full planning support. I help you pull together locations, props, client models (if needed), clothing, a shot plan and the overall photo session flow.

Then, we schedule a strategy call 1–2 weeks before your session to finalize every detail. By the time shoot day arrives, you’ll feel prepared, supported, and genuinely ready to shine.
